4 Star Self-Catering Cottages
Situated in the picturesque village of Bangor-on-Dee near Wrexham. Built in approx. 1630, our accommodation has been highly rated by the Rough Guide to Wales.
4-star self-catering cottages, part of the oldest property in the historic village of Bangor-on-Dee, built in the 1630s, retaining original oak beams and wattle-and-daub walls. The 4/5 bed Stableyard Cottage is within the 17th century building, while the 2/3 bed cottages, Afon and Derwen, are conservation area barnstyle conversions of 19th century outbuildings.
Prices include a 2-day starter pack of do-it-yourself breakfasts, comprising cereal, muesli, eggs, bread, butter, preserves, plus tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Free wifi.
Two excellent local pubs and Bangor on Dee racecourse are easily accessible. We are 300 metres from the River Dee and its ancient bridge (fishing by arrangement). Convenient for Chester, Shrewsbury, Llangollen and Snowdonia. Ideal for the long- or short-term business visitor to Wrexham Industrial Estate.
The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage site, carrying the Llangollen Canal high above the Dee Valley, is a short drive away, as are the National Trustís Erddig Hall and Chirk Castle.
We have three resident cats, Battersby, Nora and Jennifurry, who should not trouble you for anything more than a kind stroke or tickle, but this does mean we are unable to accommodate other pets.
You have the choice of staying in one of our two single bedroom barn conversion cottages, set in a cobbled courtyard or the 2 bedroom Stableyard Cottage.
These 4 star cottages offer excellent accommodation for the business and leisure tourist.
